About Leyla
I like to say that I am in the business of “home” - buying a home, building a home, decorating a home- my goal is to help my clients to feel “at home” whatever that means to you! My real estate career started as a series of passion projects while working full-time. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento and spent the next 10 years as a management consultant and product
manager at a variety of Fortune 500 companies.
I purchased my first property in the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco. It was hideously outdated but had beautiful Edwardian bones. I remodeled it on the nights and weekends to bring my vision to life. A few years later, I sold it at a significant profit - much to my amazement. And so, I rolled that into my next purchase in San Jose. And a few years later a duplex...and so I started Homemakr. Homemakr is a design and build firm with 10 employees based in San Jose, CA.
Today, my business spans 3 areas - buy/sell, design, and build/remodel. As a Realtor I specialize in homes that have deferred maintenance, are outdated, or frankly have untapped “potential”. As a licensed General Contractor, I have a team of designers and tradespeople in-house that can bring that potential to life.
If you are selling your home, I will provide guidance on attractive and practical home improvements that increase the sale price of your home and decrease the time that it spends sitting on the market. And I will manage the updates myself, on-time and within your budget.
For buyer clients, I can help you to see through the smoke and mirrors of quick flips and strategic home staging to uncover the true value of a property. I will help you envision the potential in a property and if appropriate, bring your vision of home to life.
Outside of work, I volunteer my time to charitable causes that are near to my heart. Homemakr is a proud Second Chance Employer and we donate hundreds of dollars worth of home goods to organizations each year that provide permanent housing to the unhoused and former foster youth. I sit on the board of the Santa Clara County Realtors Foundation and the Women’s Council of Realtors,
Silicon Valley. I’m an avid Yogi and love walking by the Los Gatos Creek trail with my Labradoodle, Luna.
